CREaTIONS aBOUT
These prints begin with a book of photos from the sets of John Wayne movies that I found in a thrift shop in Illinois. I reproduced an image from the book through a steel etching and edited the steel plate to obscure a single body in the scene. After printing the etching, as both original and ghost prints, I adorned and decorated each print. My goal was to create a literal visual burial in recognition of the unrecognized mass killings that the western genre romanticizes.
